This day 3rd June 49 years ago

Today is my parent’s 49th Wedding Anniversary. They got married this day 49 years ago in the town of Chickamagalur about 240 kilometers from Bangalore.

My father is no more. It is little over a year since he passed away. I miss him a lot. I know I was not that good a son, maybe I could have take care of him in a much better way. But I still have my mother and I wish to take care of her well. I do not have the materialistic riches that many kids get from their parents, but they made stand on my feet and that is best jewel that anybody can get.

But…. I still wish my parents “A Wonderful Anniversary” even though they are not together.

It’s Earth Day and My First Blog

Excited am I… Well yeah on my first post.

It’s been 24 hrs since we lost power in my locality (Vijayanagar, Bangalore, India). People @ home are having a tough time… no water (well there is water in the underground sump, but no electricity to pump it to the overhead tank), cooking will become a challenge shortly as we cannot use either the blender or the microwave,  food in the refrigerator may be spoilt already and here I am in the confines of my air-conditioned office.

I have thought about living a life of self sustenance and in tune with nature and also talked about it to my wife on how we can lead a normal life with least dependence on external resources. During my childhood days I have been to villages and have seen people leading a decent life (those days when most of the villages did not have electricity and other modern convenience ).

Mother nature has an uncanny way of letting us know when things are not okay. I felt like she was telling me “My Children you are all playing with me, What you saw yesterday was just a sample, The best is yet to come.” You all better have a PLAN FOR SUCCESS else you have already seen an example of the PLAN FOR FAILURE in action.
